More than 14.000 people of 130 countries have assisted this year to the Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) of Microsoft celebrated from the 11th to the 15th of July in Washington.

Iris-Ekamat has been in the WPC de Microsoft, where the computer giant has presented the new generation of Dynamics CRM. 

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 will offer the "Power Productivity", through a family experience, intelligent and connected to the people inside and outside of an organization. This launch will also allow the partners, including independent software vendors, global systems integrators and added value resellers, create, pack and quickly distribute the extensions and customized solutions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

To make the knowledge and distribution of solutions easier, Microsoft will launch Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace in September 2010. This new online catalog will provide the partners an easy way to market and distribute the Microsoft Dynamics solutions to their clients.

One of the honor guests of the conference was the ex president of the USA, Bill Clinton, who asked the partners to create a sustainable and safe system so that the new information technologies become the key to build a social and economic development. Corporate Vice President of the Microsoft Public Sector, Linda Zecher, explained the actions that the partners of the company carried out in this line.

The public sector has been one of the great players of the WPC, with the recognition by Microsoft of those companies that have innovated in its solutions to support the public sector communities. This way, Microsoft granted several distinctions to 21 organizations during the conference. 

On the other hand, Microsoft has made known its strong bet on web hosting and by its interest in the cloud computing as a model of services for partners and customers. In fact, between the announcements made by Microsoft, what stands out is the agreement with HP, eBay, Fujitsu and Dell to develop its software based on the cloud, Azure.

Iris-Ekamat, Microsoft & IBM partner, is the new identity of the group

The IT companies Iris Information Systems S.L. and Ekamat S.A. have merged into a single entity this July under the name of Iris-Ekamat SL. Thus, the two companies have joined the group finally in a larger company with better growth forecast.

Ekamat was born more than 30 years ago to devote himself mainly to the implementation of specialized software for the textile industry and manufacturing companies, partnering with IBM, its technology partner. Later, Iris appeared as a new line of business of the group, which specializes in distributing and implementing Microsoft solutions. With Iris, the company began to meet the needs of business management systems in other sectors of the market, industry solutions based on the ERP Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

The two companies have grown together over the years and have finally decided to join forces to merge. 420 people attended the summer concert that IT company Iris-Ekamat organized as each year to thank the trust and the work of customers, suppliers, employees, partners and friends.

Axa Barcelona Auditorium welcomed last night the traditional summer concert of the IT company Iris-Ekamat, which this year reached its seventh edition with a night of the best jazz.

The quintet Old and New Quintet, led by the saxophonist Joan Chamorro, presented the magical voice of Andrea Motis. Throughout the night, more than 400 attendees enjoyed a wide repertoire of traditional jazz, swing, funk and bosanova, where the connection with the audience was the key to the success of the concert.

The Old and New Quintet, complete with musicians Josep Traver, David Mengual and Esteve Pi, plays instrumental songs with a multitude of tones and colors, interspersed with pieces where the voice of Motis is the star.

Joan Chamorro collaborates with various jazz orchestras and has recorded over 30 albums with different formations. He has worked with renowned musicians such as Bebo Valdés, Jessy Davis, Tete Montoliu, Frank Foster and Gary Smulyan and others, and has been with Manhattan Transfer and Steve Wonder. 

Currently, Chamorro directs the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, where he teaches Andrea Motis, a girl of only fifteen years with this already established and a promising future. She has already recorded two albums, has performed at various jazz festivals and, along with Joan Chamorro, has played in various clubs such as Barcelona's Jamboree, the Hotel Casa Fuster or the Nova Jazz Cava de Terrassa.

How Unified Communications can quickly help organizations to save by reducing operating costs, the consolidation of infrastructure and optimization of human capital more effectively was the theme of the day that the consulting Iris Information Systems, with Microsoft, held on June 17th at the Fundación Universitaria Martí l’Humà (La Garriga, Barcelona).

In the presence of a room full, Iris and Microsoft professionals demonstrated the reducing expenditure that a Unified Communications system allows, and the access to all communications tools with a single click. Microsoft adds new features to its management solution with the launch of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2. During your event Directions EMEA 2010, the company has shown the new features of this new version, including integration with Dynamics CRM features and a new online payment service. 

Microsoft has used the celebration to present deDirections EMEA 2010 Dynamics NAV 2009 R2, a new version of its management solution in which the company incorporates a range of new features in line with its strategy of "Software plus Services." 

Among the main changes included in this new version include integration with your solution for customer management, CRM Dyanmics, and a new online payment service. On the first, Microsoft has enabled this integration with CRM to enable its customers that no redundant data entry and access systems more quickly to any business-contracts, prices and availability of products, choosing integration between Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. 

Moreover, another significant growth of this new version is that Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 allows customers to make payments using different channels, including, as a novelty, the online channel, operating at the main processing services payment and credit cards.

Microsoft BCN rooms welcomed yesterday the presentation of IRIS Information Systems about the enterprise portal platform Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and its integration with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009, the best way to make your company profitable quickening internal processes.

The presentation was done by IRIS professionals Baldo Martínez and Ferran Cabanes, and Microsoft Ibérica’s consultant Andreas Schou.

Schou presented the SharePoint application from a more conceptual vision, while the IRIS professionals made a down to earth presentation that included product demos, examples of customizations that IRIS has been making to its customers and exercises to create a SharePoint site.

The event was a success with an attendance of nearly fifty people. It was a very dynamic and informative day, thanks to the participation of the attendees, who participated actively during the presentations.

SharePoint allows users to connect with people, information and business processes, all through a website. With SharePoint, users can upload and download documents, create personal sites for sharing and indexing information, create workflows and electronic forms to automate and streamline their business processes. It is also a tool through which you can always access all the information from anywhere in the world.

2/5/2010 Grants for projects to implement ERP and CRM in SMEs in Catalonia

The Catalan SMEs companies can apply for direct grants for implementation projects of ERP and CRM until March 25th, 2010. 

The grants range from 30% to 50% and are intended for deployment consulting, software services and licensing of ERP and CRM. The minimum investment in the project should be 100,000€.

Iris Information Systems is offered as a contact for entities that manage access to applications. Specifically, the company that works with has a success rate of 90% in requests for projects and Licensing Services.

The requirements for Catalan SMEs to access to these funds are: having fewer than 250 employees, having a turnover of less than EUR 50 million, the balance sheet total less than EUR 43 million and the company is not owned more than 25% by a company that does not meet these parameters.

The deadline for submitting projects is March 25th, 2010, and the deadline for executing the projects supported is December 31th, this year.

2/4/2010 Microsoft changes its policy on additional purchases for licensing Microsoft Dynamics NAV and AX

Taking into effect the contract of updating the license Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics AX is an indispensable prerequisite for additional purchases of functionality and users from June 1st, 2010.

All Microsoft Dynamics customers, including Axapta (AX) and Navision (NAV), should update the maintenance plan of their license, known as BREP –Ready Business Ready Enhancement–, in order to acquire new functionality and additional users in the future. The date will begin to implement the new policy is June 1st, 2010.

Thus, customers of AX and NAV are equal to other users with some other Microsoft Dynamics products and their access to the support they need when they expand and grow their systems is ensured.  

However, in cases where the BREP is not updated and the client has an unsupported version of the product by Microsoft, the date when the client can no longer make additional purchases is advanced to March 1st, 2010.

Iris Information Systems organizes a seminar about Citrix solutions which reveals new business options by telecommuting.

Thanks to new technologies and solutions such as Citrix, there is now a new way of working. Server virtualization is a business option that makes the most of technology to increase efficiency and capacity of self-organization of any business.

Can you imagine not having to travel to the office to work? From home, from the train, in the hotel, at the airport, from wherever you want... Citrix solutions provide access to all the information and business applications to any device or network connection, as could be demonstrated at the presentation Iris Information Systems held on 19 November in Barcelona.

The former coordinator of the Technical Office for the Coordination of Telecommuting Centers Telecentre Network of Catalonia, Josep Camprubí i Casas, led the first part of the day, aimed to explain and clarify all doubts about what exactly the server virtualization was . Camprubí, who coordinates a project to implement telecentres in six counties of the Catalan Pyrenees showed the limited use of new technologies because of the "false changes, which involve using the new tools as they old ones." The main cause of this phenomenon is, according to Camprubí, "the rapidity of these technological changes facing the slowness of social change".

Iris Information Systems wants to inform the existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV’s customers about the External Connector promotion (which allows the application to expand access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV to an unlimited number of external users such as suppliers, customers, etc.).

Every existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV’s customers who want to, can purchase for their license the External Connector, without any cost except the one that corresponds to the maintenance plan (BREP). Thus, for the price of the maintenance contract for the license, customers will benefit from this functionality at no additional cost.

This offer is valid from November 1st  2009 until the 1st of April 2010. Iris Information Systems takes part in the annual partners’ meeting in the U.S.


Another year, thousands of Microsoft partners from around the world have met in New Orleans at the annual conference that Microsoft has been organizing since 2003. Iris Information Systems has participated once again in this sixth edition of the WPC09 (Worldwide Partner Conference).



During the conference inauguration, the corporative vice-president Allison Watson announced the new Microsoft Network Partners. The aim of this network is to create an already more integrated community, where the contributions of the Microsoft partners and customers can have a voice: the aim is to maximize the potential of the companies and be able to create solutions that raise the enterprises competitiveness.



During the second day in this worldwide meeting, the corporation wanted to thank the effort that the Microsoft Dynamics partners have made during the year 2009 and wanted to recognize their compromise and success in getting the dynamics line solutions to companies around the world: «Microsoft highly appreciates the contributions of the partners and we want to remark their commitment delivering exceptional solutions and unsurpassed value to costumers», said Doug Kennedy, vice-president of the Microsoft Dynamics partner team. «We are delighted to recognize their brilliant performance, their major contribution and their outstanding achievements this year», he added.


A total of 5.500 partners, coming from 115 countries, have attended more than 300 sessions in which the guidelines to follow for the partner community and the corporation have been established. In these sessions, carried out between July 13th and 16th, Microsoft has shared its strategies to deal the actual economic context. In addition, Microsoft has taken advantage of this announcing a year full of new products as no other one in its own history, among which we must highlight Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7, the new operating system that will replace Windows Vista.

The baroque music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries has been the figure of the Summer Concert that Iris-Ekamat organizes every year for its customers, suppliers, partners, friends and family. This is a token of the gratitude for the trust and hard work made during all the year.


The group Liaison Ensemble played the music in the sixth edition of the Summer Concert, performing the master pieces of the Italian seicento authors’, such as Tarquino Merula, Andrea Falconino, Marco Ucellini, Paolo cima or Dario Castello. The melting of all the instruments played by the five members of the musical group managed to bring back to live the music of the big masters in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries who created the proportions, order and aesthetic cannons that have been cultural references 400 years later.


Eulàlia Valls, Gabriel Vintró, Peter Krivda, William Waters and Jordi Ribell, all of them with a solid career as soloists, managed to start the applauses of the public, and were grateful for it to them with an encore.


The Iris-Ekamat Summer Concert, held on July 7 in the Auditorium Axa from Barcelona, has got together more than 300 attendees who were able to enjoy once again a night of good music to welcome the summer.

Iris Information systems integrates the platform of digital certificates in a new module for Microsoft Dynamics NAV


As told in the technologic event organized by Pimec and Firmaprofessional on June 5 at the Catalan employers association, the Microsoft electronic invoice module on Word and the logistic invoice platform by Pimec are now a reality.

SMEs and Catalan self-employed workers can now make use of the electronic invoicing platform, which facilitates the management and distribution of the bills and confirms its reception, increases security and lowers costs. In fact, Catalan companies could save up to 3.700 million Euros by cutting down the use of 2.250 million sheets of paper, as calculated by the Catalan employers association from data provided by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.



In this context, the logistic platform of electronic invoicing works and seamlessly integrates itself with the new Iris module of electronic invoicing developed in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and already available to companies.


During the event, the Director of the New Technologies Department for Pimec, Andreu Bru, highlighted the work carried out by Iris Information Systems in the implementation of this new billing module for Pimec. Attendees were able to see a practical presentation of the operation of the tool in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the well-known business management solution that allows enterprises to adapt themselves to new growth opportunities.

Microsoft Dynamics organises an event in Barcelona focused on the manufacture industry Coperfil Group S.A participates in the meeting as an example of business success.

The event took place on March 25th in the Hotel Diagonal Mar, in Barcelona, and the meeting was focused on the new technologies that enable companies to cut their expenses and to be more competitive.

The General Director for Microsoft in Catalonia, Valencia, Balearics and Andorra, Carles Grau, illustrated in which way the new generation of Microsoft producte are changing our way of working: in a near future, virtual meetings by holograms will be a fact. This is just an example of the benefits that new technologies can bring us, as this application specifically means a real-time decision making and at the same time, it allows companies to reduce the expenses of business trips enabling them to have remote meetings with the same quality as face to face meetings.

Some enterprises of the manufacture industry that already have an ERP solution from Microsoft Dynamics, such as the construction and real estate company Coperfil Group S.A, took place in the event as speakers in a round table exposing their case study. Iris Information Systems offers a two-hour workshop where shows to attendees how to reduce costs through an appropriate management system to take full control of the financial situation of the company.

The event, held on February 25th, was an opportunity to learn new technologies that can help companies in times of crisis. In down to earth ways and examples of real cases, Iris presented the software that lets companies save time and money to achieve an optimization of resources.

Up to 50 people came to the headquarters of Promotion of Employment to verify the potential of new technologies. The assistant director of Iris, Ferran Cabanes, gave a presentation with case studies of the new Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 and CRM. With these programs users can have an accurate knowledge of the actual state of the company having a medium-term visibility of financial status. These programs make possible to know the status of the accounts in a quick and easy way to know exactly which business development is underway. Furthermore, through this control monitoring, the company can improve customer relationships knowing, at any time, the interactions generated between both of them. Iri gave as examples the cases of Omega Pharma, Anuntis Segundamano and Coperfil, customers of the company, to demonstrate to attendees how they have used these resources to optimize their business.

On the part of Microsoft, Marc Abrales presented one of the most shocking products, the Roundtable. It consists of a camera that gives users the ability to maintain more real reunion and with better quality as a normal webcam. A 360º view of the conference room, broadband audio and video recording the flow of conversation between multiple speakers are some of the salient features. For a company that often has to travel for meetings, this tool can make a big help to avoid unnecessary travel, but keep these meetings in same conditions.

Iris Information Systems will organize, next February 25th, a seminar with demonstrations to know these technologies that can help our business in times of crisis.

 

The current economic situation, and worries that it generates, makes resources to optimize the business are very important. To have a computer properly can be crucial to improve and, in difficult times like we live in, getting ahead the competition. For this reason, Iris give some ideas to address the crisis and not be left behind.

 

The deputy director of Iris, Ferran Cabanes, will make a presentation with case studies of the new Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 and CRM, and review the existing grants and subsidies for ICT projects. Then, Jose Luis Cruz, a consultant for companies and partners, from Microsoft Ibérica, will explain how to save optimizing communication through the Unified Messaging Microsoft. Daniel Marín, system consultant of Iris, will close the presentations giving some advice to save money and time with data storage.

 

The headquarters of Foment de Treball (Via Laietana 32, 08003 Barcelona) has been the site chosen for this seminar, a very consistent with the agenda. From 9:30 pm to 12:00 pm Iris will try to make a new business view from a computer properly. Attendees will enjoy a welcome mid-morning snack and after the event may resolve the points that have not been clear with the speakers and commercial enterprise. Iris-Ekamat technicians engaged a training day fund to meet the new Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009, available from December 1st.

During the day on December 15th, all technical from Iris-Ekamat enjoyed a training session on the new ERP solution from Microsoft. A day that was intended, above all, in order to company workers have a broad knowledge of the application which they will work with to provide customers the best possible service.

During the meeting were several explanations for the practice by Iris -Ekamat consultants Regina Julià and Ruben Quesada, and the attendants were able to do all kinds of questions in order to clarify any questions they might have. These acts are clearly the result of stubbornness on the training and methodology within the company, with this initiative the group Iris Ekamat back-to back a quality service differentiator, standing at the forefront of developments in the Microsoft products.

The result was very satisfactory, as the technical of Iris -Ekamat were very happy with the way the new version works and described the day's necessary and enriching. More than 6,000 companies are using Microsoft Dynamics NAV in Spain and many already enjoy the new solution from Microsoft, which incorporates new capabilities that are tailored to the specific needs of each professional in terms of their role in the company.


The new was announced at Convergence 2008, held in mid-November in Copenhagen, where Microsoft made the main event for customers of Microsoft Dynamics. The Balmoral Hotel in Barcelona was the site chosen for the lauch of the two leading software solutions on the market. Iris Information Systems hosted a conference that, for two and a half hours, introduced the essential characteristics of Saturno and Publimarket, software intended for distribution sectors of food and beverages and advertising and marketing respectively. It was a reception that favoured interaction in a relaxed atmosphere where more than 20 attendees were able to resolve all their doubts.

Specifically, four solutions will be launched, oriented to diferent sectors: textile, distribution of food and beverage, construction and real estate and advertising and marketing.

Iris Information Systems is organizing, the November 12th, a vertical day in Balmoral Hotel Barcelona, where there will be launch four software solutions market leaders based on the award-winning technology from Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Last October 16th, in the Hotel Melia Barcelona, more than 200 people were present at the act of launch of the two versions Dynamics NAV 2009 and AX 2009 in a session organized by Microsoft that lasted 3 hours.

On the first part, the vice-president of Microsoft International gave a brief account of the product with an explanatory video of the strategy of Microsoft Dynamics. After that, advantages and challenges of the company were covered through specialized speeches. The second part was dedicated to the demonstration of Microsoft Dyamics NAV 2009.

An Iris client, OMEGA PHARMA, was selected to explain their particular experience of success to the attendees. 7/1/2008 More than 300 people attending Iris-Ekamat’s summer concert

About 350 people came to the summer concert organised each year by Iris-Ekamat to welcome the summer and thank the trust of clients, suppliers, partners, friends and relatives.

This year, the concert has been performed by MOSAIC, a Barcelona’s guitar quartet. They’ve played a varied repertoire: from classical music by Manuel de Falla to Country, going to the flamenco by Paco de Lucía, tango and milonga (musical genre related to the tango and habaneras), boleros, Brazilian music and a sample of one of the most characteristic authors of contemporary music in Catalonia and linked to La Nova Cançó, Toti Soler.

The concert was a success and MOSAIC delighted the public with a pleasant surprise by interpreting one of the most emblematic songs by Frank Sinatra, "In other words", as a conclusion to the concert, magnificently sung by one of the components of the quartet.

The event took place the first of July at the Auditor Aca, in Barcelona (Avinguda Diagonal 547) at 8.30 p.m.

12/10/2007 DNG-Disnagar, case study for the deployment of a solution for the distribution of Food and Beverages by Iris Information Systems

Last October 2nd, Iris Information Systems took part in the meeting entitled "Key to Competitiveness of Manufacturers and Distributors of Food and Beverage Industry", part of the activities undertaken by the FORO INDECO.

The Forum of Innovation, Development and Competitiveness aims to help firms in innovation and optimization of their management, this means looking for further development of the business and increasing its competitiveness.

On this occasion, the event was attended by experienced professionals of the Food and Beverage Sector. Ferran Cabanes, Iris vice-director, did a lecture of the present and the future scenario in information systems, and Mr. Jorge Navarro, manager of DNG-Disnagar, a company dedicated to the distribution of top quality wines, raised the case study made by Iris in the company.

DNG-Disnagar's case study showed the optimisation of its logistics management through the information systems implanted. Specifically, Iris Information Systems has successfully implemented the latest version of its solutions (addons) on the Distribution of Food and Beverage (Saturno), as well as the managing of presale and autosale (TITAN), developed under the platform Microsoft Dymanics NAV.

DNG-Disnagar has been trusting Iris Information Systems as its technological partner for more than two years now.

DNG-Disnagar was looking for software built into Windows environment that met all the particularities and requirements of a management system prepared for their sector. That is: control and warehouse management of clients, preparation and picking load sharing, management of sales orders via PDA, possibility of using e-mail to make purchase orders and access to the database to work Excel and Access.
